Jack was the son of the pastor john rayburn. Jack was a bible colege graduate. While he worked as a grocery store overnight manager,he was the assistant pastor and youth pastor.  It was an unpaid post. He took it seriously.  He was well liked in the church.

He kept quite busy. He liked to br buisy. He focused on ministry and his outside job. He was hard working and devoted.

One Sunday he waa scheduled to preach in the morning service. He was getting ready for the service. The church was fairly was a good group.  They were a very close knit group. They were tradional king james fundamental baptis church. They sang hyims and had a piano. He looked around. Then he saw her.

She was about five seven. He was five nine. She had dirty blound hair. She wore a dark purple almost blue dress. She apeared to be in her early twenties. She was there with a women he later learned was his sister and her morther.

He had never seen them before.  He had no idea what brought them hear. Were they new to the area? Were they interested in becoming part of the church or simply curiosity seakers. His farther had a saying, there are two kinds of visitors to a church ,speed daters and those who might consider a courtship with the church.  You never know what category they fall into.he was curious about her.  There eyies met for a spilit second. He smiled at her. She halfed smiled then quickly withdrew. She terned away from him. He went back to getting ready for the service.

He and his dad went over to them.”im paster john rayburn this is my son and right hand man jack. “The older raybern said.  “Hi im sandra greener. These are my daughters kristin and ashly. “She said.

Both gentlemen shock there hand. The younger john shock her hand.she shock his hand quickly. She quickly turned away. Mostly the pastor engaged in small talk with the family mostly with the mom.

At that moment they hardly said a word to eachother. Odd sense kristin would become very special to him. He would refer to her as Chrissy. They got off to a rocky start. That would not last foever. It would pass.

He then went to the podium. The younger raybarn startred the service. He led the song service then he preached.

He stood at the back of the chepel greating people as they left. He thanked mrs grener for coming. He told them that he hoped that they would return. He said goodbye to her two daughters esoecialy kristin.  She said goodbye but not much else.

He had no idea if he would ever see them again. They did return that sunday night. He said hello to them.

They continued to come. He really wanted to talk to her more extensively but did not dare sunday they had a dinner after the service.

He decided to throw caution to the wind and decided to go talk to her.he headed to her direction.  He neared she was seated.ashly went to him.she head him off at the pass.

“May i talk to you in private? “Ashly asked.  “Of course.  ” he said. They went to a corner.  “Look jack may i call you jack?” she asked. ” of course.  ” jack said. “Jack kristin meens no ofense. She is not interested in a relationship right now. I know you meen no offense. She woukd prefer not to engage in for lack of a better term fratinization. You seam like a nice guy but she has been though a lot.she woukd prefer to be left alone.”ashly said.

“I totaly understand. I did not meen to be inappropriate.  I will back off. “Jack said. “Thank you. Again please do not take this personally. “She said. “I dont. I assure you. ” he said

He got his food and went to a different table. They served lasagna witch was his favorate but he was not really hungery. He managed to eat a little.

He wrote in his diery that day.”dear Chrissy i gues i misjudged us. I thought you were shy.i gues i precieved that they might be something between us. That was my bad i supose. It will be awkward for a while.  I will hournor your request.  I will stay away. I have no idea if your band will be lifted.  Perhaps we will laugh about it one day. I dont know. Most likly you will never read this.  I have no idea. ” jack.
